At the heart of the concept is the idea of bringing the outside in. Drawing inspiration from Astana's Nurzhol Boulevard and the wider Silk Road narrative, the design introduces a rich layer of greenery, natural materials and filtered daylight to create a biophilic environment within the existing shopping centre.
Communal dining areas sit alongside quieter seating pockets, integrated by play zones and flexible workspaces, creating a dynamic yet legible environment that evolves throughout the day.
The plan is structured around clear and generous circulation routes, maintaining openness while subtly guiding movement through the space. Patterned floor treatments, planting zones and furniture clusters define distinct areas without creating visual clutter, allowing the environment to remain fluid and intuitive.
Positioned as a key anchor at the top of the building, the Sky Garden plays a strategic role in drawing footfall upwards. Visual connections from lower levels, combined with strong vertical circulation routes, establish the space as a destination within the wider mall journey.
Central to the proposal is a highly adaptable event zone designed to host a wide range of activities, from informal gatherings to large-scale performances. The space can transform between multiple models, dining, catwalk, concert or presentation, supported by integrated infrastructure and clear sightlines.
