Redevelopment of an over capacity marina with the addition of residential and commercial units. The mixed use of the scheme from housing to hotels and commercial restaurants will create a new central hub for the surrounding area and improve the local amenities that are currently lacking.
Redevelopment of an existing over capacity marina through the provision of a new public realm offering with residential units above. From a technical design perspective this created some inherent problems of building above and abutting a waterway. The mix of uses range from residential to hotels and commercial restaurants will create a new hub for the local area and improve the local amenities of the surroundings.
The location of the scheme allowed us to be more creative with the forms of the buildings that respond to the vernacular of the site. The changes in massing created clear definition between each block and characterised the changes in use.

Marina – We started by creating an efficiently laid out marina as this is on of the primary functions of the site.
Massing – Using this marina layout we then started to test out massing options to extrude this into a 3D form.
Roofscape – Taking influence from Scandinavian harbours that shared similar characteristics to the site, we decided upon having buildings right on the waterfront with varied and intriguing roof forms.
